<image:caption>In her poetic language, Greta guides us on how to transform suffering into inner peace and joy, to become more loving and forgiving. Her poetry informs us that in order to create a peaceful society, we need to focus more on self-development and self-healing. As Greta says, “it is our life’s purpose to search, to grow.</image:caption>

<image:title>Lion, God Plays Hide and Seek - About The Artist, Gabriella Ohana</image:title>
<image:caption>I was born in 1998 and raised in Los Angeles, California. I am Moroccan Jewish and grew up Sephardic. I attend college at California State University, Northridge. I am working towards a Bachelors degree in graphic design. I chose “God Plays Hide and Seek” as my choice of poem because of the message behind it as to how God is everywhere even if we sometimes lose faith or don’t feel his presence. How Greta and Gabriella met: Greta met Gabriella’s friend, Tania, after a presentation Greta gave at Yeshiva University for Holocaust Education for the Future. Tania approached Greta after the presentation to be her intern, and sparked enthusiasm and lit fire on many other students to join the project. Tania connected her with Gabriella, who was inspired to create these pieces from her life.</image:caption>

<image:title>Gallery - My Beautiful Grandmother, Yuko Ueda Groupp - “I have been making mixed media paintings on canvas and paper. Inspiration comes from nature, life and the human spirit. Personal visual experiences of color and form in nature are the deepest motives of my art work. Poetic memory fragments – such as vibrant flowers, wild berries’ vivid red in the winter field, or stormy sky, dark grey following a rainbow, clouds shines over the water – are often recalled as elements and appear on my canvases. It is not a record, but an appearance. Collected small man-made materials and natural pieces are incorporated onto canvases. It is a joy to see all the individual colors and materials harmonize altogether spontaneously under certain control.” -Yuko Ueda</image:title>

<image:title>Gallery - A Chilling Reunion, Alexandra Neuman - I am from Italy and the former Czechoslovakia. I am a multi-disciplinary artist currently based in San Diego, California. Greta and I first met while I was participating in a performance at the Jewish Museum in NYC. I overheard her speaking about her poetry project and shortly afterwards became friends. I am interested in contributing to the exhibition because Greta's poetry speaks to optimism in the face of suffering and human indecency, which are extremely relevant to the state of the world today, in the sense that it will not be helpful to be overcome by cynicism in the face of contemporary conflict. I think that the idea of pairing the poetry with artworks will provide for new ways of accessing the stories that she has told in her work, and provide new avenues for education on these topics.</image:title>

<image:title>Gallery - My World, Yuko Ueda Groupp - “I have been making mixed media paintings on canvas and paper.

A distant uncle has searched far and wide, but his research and evidence remain... distant. I am getting my MFA from the Pratt Institute. I was interested in working with Greta because she composes herself in a forever earnest way. Her work speaks to her experience, and her energy is contagious.</image:title>

I am currently a junior at Hampshire College in Massachusetts, studying Biology. Greta is a friend who I have deep appreciation, respect, and love for. Her message to the world is simple and one I can always get behind: choosing compassion and peace. I think of Greta’s mission in terms of the Hebrew phrase tikkun olam or “repairing the world”.</image:title>

I had borrowed it from a friend of mine and instantly felt connected to her words. It made me connect to Greta, connect to her suffering to the point I had to reach out to her. I met Greta after her reading. Later, Greta contacted me about her project and I was immediately on board. I knew I had to be a part of it. Greta and I reconnected and developed a spiritual connection towards one another.</image:caption>

<image:title>Gallery - The Best Teacher, Nico Sleater - I’m from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My heritage is Polish and English. I am studying at the New School for a BA in Jazz Piano Performance. I think context is extremely important for music and can drastically change how powerful something is. I want to work with Greta because making art for the sake of spreading a message is an extremely powerful way to make art, and I hope to move people and help them understand Greta’s message. I chose the poem The Best Teacher because of its powerful message. Suffering and loneliness can be looked at with regret, but also can be looked at with optimism, since they often teach you how to appreciate life and what to be grateful for.</image:title>
